About the project:

Subject: refinery

46 lamps are installed.

PROBLEMS:

Typical oil pumping station located in a field. The roof is metal. There are 8 large pumps inside the station. They are supplied with the same large engines that generate a large amount of heat. As a result, in hot weather under the roof inside the station, the temperature reached +80, which immediately disabled the lamps. First of all, it concerned the current driver, which includes a capacitor, inside which an electrolyte is located (poorly responding to heating).

The goal:

The Chief Power Engineer set the task to ensure long-lasting high-temperature LED lighting and create a smart lighting system.

SOLUTION AND IMPLEMENTATION:

  1. The project was developed and calculated in the Dialux system;
  2. LED lighting systems were developed with a remote driver at a convenient height;
  3. The station was divided into zones using presence sensors. A smart lighting system for high temperatures was set up.

Results:

We solved a complex problem using a simple method. We removed the current drivers from the lamps in 100 meters, where the temperature remains stable and does not overheat them. This solution makes it easy to maintain the drivers when needed.

Besides, zones were assigned in the room, and two scenarios were programmed:

  1. Basic lighting: works automatically when people are present.
  2. Emergency lighting: 20% of the lighting power.
